STRAND SILVERED SHADES ES

A set of antique silvered / mirrored saucer or dished shades by STRAND ELECTRIC LONDON and labelled as such on each shade within red shield shaped labels. English approx. 1930-40s. The shades were silvered to the outside and then protected by paint and sometimes a layer of copper too. Up to 15 available, some with paint losses and the silver tarnished to a champagne / gold colour. Most retain the red labels. Wired with bronzed brass ES lampholders/cordgrips, bronzed brass galleries and 1.25m bergundy fabric flex. Different flex length / colour can be supplied. **These are wired with patinated brass ES lampholders to facilitate use of small crown silvered “golf ball” type of bulbs which are not available in a BC fitting. The smaller bulb keeps it more within the shade for better looks and reflection. Slightly dearer so if you don’t need a small crown silvered bulb or any other ES bulb specifically go for the BC lampholder option (separate advert). Dimensions in inches/cms; 8.5″/21.5cm diameter. 4.5″/11.5cm tall inc cordgrip. Weight is approx. 0.5kgeach. Priced individually. LARGE HOLOPHANE LANTERNS

A rare set of four large prismatic glass 3 part Holophane lantern / pendant lights with bronzed brass hooked galleries and arm mounts. English c1920. All excellent condition and quality (very crisply cast glass) and complete. All glass parts marked Holophane. The convex upper glass and nippled lens glass are etched to the inside. Rewired with original ES lampholders and 1.5m fabric flex. Each includes 24″/61cm original brass chain. Dimensions in inches/cms; 14″/36cm diameter. 14″/36cm tall inc hook. HOLOPHANE STILETTO LANTERN LIGHTS

A set of three Holophane “Stiletto” two part prismatic glass pendant / lantern lights with brass ring mounts and scrolled chain hooks. English, c1920. A rare complete set (see detail photos) and in very good condition. Complete with original brass “hangers”,galleries and hooked ceiling plates (supplied with vintage patinated slotted screws). The glass marked BLONDEL STILETTO BOWL and HOLOPHANE 6312. Cleaned and rewired with brass ES lampholders positioned for optimal central bulb placement, 1.5m fabric flex. Dimensions in inches/cms; 16″/41cm max diameter inc. scrolled hooks (12″/31cm glass only . 28″/72cm drop (from top of hanger hook to base of bowl).Plus height of the hooked ceiling plate (2-3″/5-7cm). An antique fluted bowl alabaster plafonnier with original gilt brass parts; four arm “hanger”, twisted linked arm chains and rosette mounts. English, early 20th century. Excellent condition, bowl intact. Ready to go, cleaned and waxed. Wired with 1.5m fabric flex, patinated brass cordgrip / BC lampholder. Supplied with a good antique hooked ceiling plate and vintage patinated brass slotted screws. See image to show all parts supplied. Dimensions in inches/cms; 18″/46cm diameter. 17″/44cm drop (top of hanger loop to base of bowl). Rarely seen (only ones i have ever had) vintage plastic coolicon pendant shade lights. Only 5 of. Excellent condition. Mid century ish. White shades, grey snap in galleries. Plastic is not brittle or misshapen or discoloured. Marked to shades; BRITISH MADE 100W BS161 REGD. DES. PEND. COOLICON. Supplied wired with 1m fabric flex, patinated brass cordgrip /BC lampholder, patinated brass cordgrip / ceiling plate with earth and vintage slotted brass screws (see image).
