DOUBLE SIDED BULKHEAD LAMP BY SIMPLEX

A rare antique cast iron double sided circular bulkhead lamp with domed glass shades suspended with a steel conduit stem and a ball and socket jointed ceiling plate. English, 2nd quarter 20th century. I have only owned and seen one of these. All original parts / fittings and original paint in excellent condition. Fully cleaned, rubbed up and 2 coats clear “museum” wax. Rewired and ready to go (may require new gasket if using in a damp environment). Has a BC lampholder. FLEXI-STEM DESK LAMP

A good antique desk / work / study / office lamp with brass flexi-stem on a square stem and circular cast iron moulded base which has it’s original brassed / coppered finish. Brass knurled thumb screws. Associated spun aluminium shade. English 1920s-30s. All cleaned, rubbed up, waxed, rewired with 3m fabric flex, patinated brass safety-switched lampholder and traditional phenolic plug. Pat tested. HOLOPHANE TURQUOISE PENDANT LIGHTS

A trio ( several more also available) of large antique Holophane prismatic light shades in turquoise / blue with the original Holophane 2 part galleries,hooks and ceramic lampholders. The turquoise prismatic glass is etched to the inside so has a matt finish and is very crisply moulded. I believe the idea of the colour was to help shift the colour of the outputted light more towards daylight. Photos show them lit with a traditional (2700k) warm bulb and a slightly cooler (4200k) bulb; both transmitting a cooler light than if through clear glass. All complete. The galleries have been cleaned, polished and waxed and retain some paint. They also have an earthing point so the original lampholders can be used. The shades are also marked around the rim; ” HOLOPHANE 531 PATD 1910 No 28182 ENGLAND ” Please note these shades have always been one piece (no glass covers) Dimensions in inches/cms; 10.25″/25.5cms max diameter by 12″/30.5 tall including galleries. 2.2kg each.
