PAIR MAHOGANY GOTHIC ARMCHAIRS

A pair of “gothic revival” chamfered mahogany armchairs with thick shaped slab seats, X-frame legs joined with a turned stretcher and original horsehair & leather upholstery. English 19th century. Sturdy, comfortable, some nice colour. They are comfortable. Upholstery is okay and useable, could be redone or reinforced in places. Dimensions in inches/cms; 32″/81.5cm tall. 27.5″/70cm max depth. 23.75″/60cm max width (at arm rests) Seat width is 21.625″/52.5cm wide at the front (and 17.5″/45cm wide at the rear). Seat depth is 20″/51cm. Seat height is approx 16.25″/41cm. Seat thickness is just over 2.25″/6cm. Click photos  to enlarge…

ANTIQUE IRON GOTHIC BENCH

An antique cast iron gothic church bench; the X-frame end supports with pierced trefoil decoration. English 19th century. Most likely from a church but could be well used indoors or out. The much later slats are sturdy but could be improved upon. Seen paired with a 19th century cast iron arched table base (sold separately). An antique wrought iron bench with feet and wooden slats. English late 19th – early 20th century. The thick slats are all sound and the bench is sturdy.
