CUT GLASS PLAFONNIER LIGHT

An antique cut glass bowl plafonnier light with cast brass C-scroll hook mounts and original square cut chain. English, early 20th century/Edwardian. Crisply cut and bright glass, excellent quality. Cleaned and lightly polished mounts. Supplied with patinated 3 hooked ceiling plate (new, with earth, brass grommet, cordgrip) and screws and 1m fabric flex, cordgripped lampholder ( see image). Dimensions in inches/cms; 12″/31cm glass bowl diameter, 14.75″/37.5cm max diameter including hooks. 24″/61cm drop as is. 3.4kg.

A heavy etched glass lens lantern with brass mounts and handle. This could be used as a moveable lantern hanging or not (with an added plug). An unusual pair of bubbled glass pendant light shades the inner glass layer being white (apart from the “bubbles”). Approx. mid century. UK origin. Ready to hang; cleaned and wired with 1.25m light grey fabric flex and nickel plated brass cordgrip / lampholder. Supplied with earthed nickel plated cordgrip ceiling plates. A vintage (approx mid century) turned wooden monkey puzzle table lamp, the globe shade illuminated (and shown in photos, not a bright lamp but a warm glow). Brazil. Perfect condition. Provenance: Purchased from Bluecoat Display Centre, Liverpool, 1981, 1991 and 1994. 1.Globe stoneware lamp covered with grey glaze washed with bands of iron by David Heninsley (1927-2007).
