FRENCH WROUGHT IRON & OPAL GLASS HANGING LIGHT

An antique iron mounted opal shade hanging light of large proportions. Excellent quality, heavy duty, beautifully made. French c1950 or a bit earlier with a c1900 hand blown opal glass shade. The large opal “oil lamp” shade supported by a substantial rivetted construction iron frame with the central stem terminating in a 3 x BC lampholder manifold. All thoroughly cleaned, rubbed up and clear waxed (x3). Rewired with 2m dark brown fabric flex and 3 new patinated brass lampholders. Dimensions in inches/cms; 19″/48cm tall x 21″/53cm max width. Opal shade is 17″/43 cm in diameter x 10.5″/27cm tall. Iron ring is 16.75″/ 42.5cm diameter. 7.85kg (shade only is 3.1kg). Click photos  to enlarge…

HOLOPHANE HOBNAIL BOWL PLAFONNIER

An antique Holophane moulded glass “hobnail” bowl plafonnier light fitting with chromed brass mounts and original chromed brass 3 hooked hanger and chains. United States, 1920s. Supplied with a nickel plated hooked brass ceiling plate, cordgrip / lampholder and 1.75m fabric flex, S-hook (see image for details). All in excellent condition; cleaned, polished and wired. Chain between the hanger / S-hook and hooked ceiling plate (chromed brass) can be supplied on request to make a customised overall drop. Dimensions in inches/cms; 15″/38cm max diameter inc mounts (bowl only is 12″/31). Approx. 20.5″/52cm height (bottom of bowl to top of hanger loop). 3.2kg.

An antique cut glass bowl plafonnier light with cast brass C-scroll hook mounts and original square cut chain. English, early 20th century/Edwardian. Crisply cut and bright glass, excellent quality. Cleaned and lightly polished mounts. Supplied with patinated 3 hooked ceiling plate (new, with earth, brass grommet, cordgrip) and screws and 1m fabric flex, cordgripped lampholder ( see image). Dimensions in inches/cms; 12″/31cm glass bowl diameter, 14.75″/37.5cm max diameter including hooks. 24″/61cm drop as is. 3.4kg.
