A pair of antique 19th century silver plated octagonal lamps in superb condition (no dents, silver plating “perfect”), with an early pro conversion to electric, by Hawksworth, Eyre & Co (Sheffield). English. c1900. A rare pair of very handsome lamps. Rewired with 3m fabric flex and traditional hard plastic plugs , retaining the silver plated switched lampholders. Pat tested. An attractive antique mahogany George III tea caddy chest divided internally into three compartments all having lids with central small brass lifting knobs. English, c1770. Original hardware, no key. HOLOPHANE TURQUOISE PENDANT LIGHTS

A trio ( several more also available) of large antique Holophane prismatic light shades in turquoise / blue with the original Holophane 2 part galleries,hooks and ceramic lampholders. The turquoise prismatic glass is etched to the inside so has a matt finish and is very crisply moulded. I believe the idea of the colour was to help shift the colour of the outputted light more towards daylight. Photos show them lit with a traditional (2700k) warm bulb and a slightly cooler (4200k) bulb; both transmitting a cooler light than if through clear glass. All complete. The galleries have been cleaned, polished and waxed and retain some paint. They also have an earthing point so the original lampholders can be used. The shades are also marked around the rim; ” HOLOPHANE 531 PATD 1910 No 28182 ENGLAND ” Please note these shades have always been one piece (no glass covers) Dimensions in inches/cms; 10.25″/25.5cms max diameter by 12″/30.5 tall including galleries. 2.2kg each.
